The problem

Brawlhalla's global esports ecosystem was fragmented across multiple platforms, creating inconsistent formats, onboarding friction, and limited Tier 1 tooling for organizers. As the game entered its tenth competitive year, Blue Mammoth Games needed a scalable, automated platform to unify official circuits and top community events under one cohesive infrastructure.

The solution: A new unified home for Brawlhalla esports

In April 2025, Blue Mammoth Games, a Ubisoft company, announced Challengermode as the official platform for all Brawlhalla esports. The dedicated Brawlhalla's Space serves both official tournaments and Tier 1 community events, uniting them under a single infrastructure. For the first time, the Brawlhalla community gained access to a native mobile app, dramatically reducing friction across registration, check-in, and score reporting.
We are excited to be partnering with Challengermode as they bring their best-in-class platform to Brawlhalla. This partnership provides our players with a brand new home for our Esport that makes competing easier than ever.

Custom-built for Brawlhalla's needs

Between October 2024 and April 2025, Challengermode and Blue Mammoth collaborated to implement critical features common in the fighting games scene:
GSL-style double elimination groups
Grand Final rematch logic
Advanced score reporting with character and map tracking
These capabilities were required to support Brawlhalla's 2025 seasonal format: four major events, each spanning two weekends, across both solo and team competitions. All rule variants and bracket structures are now natively supported—no workarounds, no manual patchwork.

Migration of tier 1 organizers and grassroots communities

Over a dozen key organizers—including Estádio, Brawl League, and Moose Wars—migrated to Challengermode in early 2025. Events now run end-to-end on the platform, fully integrated into Brawlhalla's official schedule. The transition from Start.gg was completed without disruption. Organizer feedback has been strongly positive, citing faster tooling, smoother workflows, and responsive support. Players report shorter delays, clearer match flows, and faster results.
Challengermode has been a great new home for Brawlhalla Esports. The team has been incredible to partner with and they've really helped us build a streamlined experience for players and organizers alike. From new features to fast and responsive support our community has easier and faster access to tournaments than ever before.
