The problem

Midjiwan AB, the creator of The Battle of Polytopia, wanted to provide its gamers with a seamless and engaging competitive experience in-game. However, creating and managing tournaments manually was a time-consuming and resource-intensive task that detracted from the core game development.

Native in-game tournament integration

Challengermode introduces easy to use in-game tournaments for all skill levels to enhance player engagement and retention. The solution is a full-scale, out of the box solution, that comes with various stages of integration options. Midjiwan opted for a fully integrated solution within their game, allowing players to seamlessly participate in Challengermode-powered tournaments without ever leaving the game client.
We wanted to make it easy for players to set up and participate in tournaments themselves. It was also important to display the tournaments inside the game itself so that more players would find them.

The response was very positive and the most common feedback has been to host even more tournaments to play in.

About a month into the tournament patch, approximately 10% of the game's total DAU now engage with Daily Tournaments. This significant engagement from our player base demonstrates the appeal and success of our tournament feature. Specifically, players engaging in the tournament content have 3.99 tribes per player compared to 1.92 tribes per player for non-Challengermode users. These precise percentages underscore the substantial boost in sales revenue and user engagement achieved through the integration of Challengermode Esport Infrastructure technology in Polytopia.
Challengermode's dedication for the grassroots level esports players made them the perfect partner to work with in building out our competitive gaming scene for The Battle for Polytopia.
