Caledonia Esports “Catalyst” Cup 2025 – Official Introduction & Ruleset
Tournament Ruleset - Caledonia Esports Catalyst
Match Setup A Caledonia admin will create all matches, generate passwords, and send invites to team members.
Ban-Lock Process The Ban-Lock Process follows this sequence: Team A bans a hero. Team B bans a hero. Team A locks a hero. Team B locks a hero. Team A bans a hero. Team B bans a hero.
Important Notes: Locked heroes cannot be banned later. Skins are not dependent on gameplay. Captains can choose not to ban or lock heroes. If the countdown expires, the process will be skipped. After the Ban-Lock Process, up to 4 heroes will be banned, and participants will select from the remaining available heroes.
Error Handling: Caledonia will not address issues with incorrect bans or locked heroes, or if the process is skipped due to team mistakes. The match will proceed; any consequences will be the team's responsibility. Match Format (Best-of-3 or longer): Caledonia will randomly assign one team to ban first in the first match. The winner of each subsequent game will get to ban first. Leader Selection (for bans/locks): The "leader" responsible for bans and locks will be selected in the following order: Team captain Team coach The first participant in the preparation room Random selection If the "leader" disconnects during the Ban-Lock Process, a new leader will be randomly selected. All participants must stay alert during this process.
- Tournament Guide Match Results: Caledonia will determine match results and data based on the game outcome. In case of disputes, Caledonia's decision is final. Game Version: Matches will be played on the most recent game version, which may be updated during the tournament. Participants must ensure their devices and network connections are prepared in advance. A stable wired connection is recommended. Team Lineups: Teams must submit their lineups (captains, coaches, starters, and substitutes) to Caledonia. Once submitted, the lineup cannot be changed unless special circumstances exist. Substitutes are not allowed between matches. Teams will be allowed 6 members of the team, 1 coach, and up to 3 subs.
Match Start: Teams must join the preparation room before the scheduled start time. If a team has fewer than 6 members in the preparation room at the match start time, it will be considered a forfeit in the elimination stage. Communication: Caledonia will establish a communication channel for the tournament. Captains or authorized team members must join to receive updates and resolve issues. Objections/Complaints Caledonia is the tournament's highest authority. Disputes must be submitted with evidence and will not be accepted if a new round has started or more than 6 hours have passed since the match ended. A team member must file complaints, and evidence must be provided promptly.
Complaint Process: Save evidence and submit it to Caledonia via official channels (e.g., ticket system). Caledonia will review the evidence and respond within 48 hours. Further investigation may be required, which could take more or less time depending on the evidence. Once an investigation is concluded, no further objections can be raised unless new substantial evidence is provided that challenges the original decision. Complaints about in-game actions like hero selection, map choice, or kill methods will not be accepted.
