Caledonia Esports “Catalyst” Cup 2025 – Official Introduction & Ruleset

Tournament Ruleset - Caledonia Esports Catalyst

  1. Match Setup A Caledonia admin will create all matches, generate passwords, and send invites to team members.

  2. Ban-Lock Process The Ban-Lock Process follows this sequence: Team A bans a hero. Team B bans a hero. Team A locks a hero. Team B locks a hero. Team A bans a hero. Team B bans a hero.

Important Notes: Locked heroes cannot be banned later. Skins are not dependent on gameplay. Captains can choose not to ban or lock heroes. If the countdown expires, the process will be skipped. After the Ban-Lock Process, up to 4 heroes will be banned, and participants will select from the remaining available heroes.

Error Handling: Caledonia will not address issues with incorrect bans or locked heroes, or if the process is skipped due to team mistakes. The match will proceed; any consequences will be the team's responsibility. Match Format (Best-of-3 or longer): Caledonia will randomly assign one team to ban first in the first match. The winner of each subsequent game will get to ban first. Leader Selection (for bans/locks): The "leader" responsible for bans and locks will be selected in the following order: Team captain Team coach The first participant in the preparation room Random selection If the "leader" disconnects during the Ban-Lock Process, a new leader will be randomly selected. All participants must stay alert during this process.

  1. Tournament Guide Match Results: Caledonia will determine match results and data based on the game outcome. In case of disputes, Caledonia's decision is final. Game Version: Matches will be played on the most recent game version, which may be updated during the tournament. Participants must ensure their devices and network connections are prepared in advance. A stable wired connection is recommended. Team Lineups: Teams must submit their lineups (captains, coaches, starters, and substitutes) to Caledonia. Once submitted, the lineup cannot be changed unless special circumstances exist. Substitutes are not allowed between matches. Teams will be allowed 6 members of the team, 1 coach, and up to 3 subs.

Match Start: Teams must join the preparation room before the scheduled start time. If a team has fewer than 6 members in the preparation room at the match start time, it will be considered a forfeit in the elimination stage. Communication: Caledonia will establish a communication channel for the tournament. Captains or authorized team members must join to receive updates and resolve issues. Disqualification Teams can be disqualified if they do not follow rules set by Marvel Rivals or Caledonia Esports who will follow TOS along the lines of Twitch/Marvel Rivals Teams that do not show up within their match ten minutes after the lobby is opened for both teams will be forfeited and removed.

  1. Platforms The tournament will be open to console and PC players across Europe. Players may use controllers or a keyboard and mouse (KBM).

  2. Issue Resolution Reconnection Policy: Players will be allowed one chance to restart within two minutes of the match beginning if they disconnect or crash. If the issue occurs again, they must rejoin before the match starts.

  3. Objections/Complaints Caledonia is the tournament's highest authority. Disputes must be submitted with evidence and will not be accepted if a new round has started or more than 6 hours have passed since the match ended. A team member must file complaints, and evidence must be provided promptly.

Complaint Process: Save evidence and submit it to Caledonia via official channels (e.g., ticket system). Caledonia will review the evidence and respond within 48 hours. Further investigation may be required, which could take more or less time depending on the evidence. Once an investigation is concluded, no further objections can be raised unless new substantial evidence is provided that challenges the original decision. Complaints about in-game actions like hero selection, map choice, or kill methods will not be accepted.

  1. Code of Conduct This tournament aims to provide an exciting competitive experience for all participants. Caledonia expects all participants to maintain fair play and respect. Behavior Violations: The following actions are prohibited and may lead to penalties, such as warnings, rematches, disqualifications, or loss of prizes: Failing to use the designated device for competition. Passive gameplay or obtaining confidential information from other teams illegally. Exploiting game bugs for an advantage (unless explicitly allowed by Caledonia). Collusion, match-fixing, or other actions that negatively impact other participants. Inappropriate remarks, spamming, or disrupting tournament areas, live streams, group chats, or in-game. Modifying the game client. Using cheat devices or programs (e.g., macros, emulators). Using another participant’s account or encouraging others to do so. Threatening, insulting, attacking, or defaming staff or participants. Posting discriminatory or offensive comments. Inciting hate or discrimination. Violating the User Agreement, Privacy Policy, or Community Guidelines.

  2. Rule Changes & Improvements To ensure fairness, Caledonia reserves the right to revise or amend these rules. Any significant changes will be communicated to participants before the next match. By participating, participants accept the updated rules. In case of inconsistencies, the officially published rules will take precedence. Caledonia has the right to take necessary actions to protect the interests of Caledonia Esports and its affiliates. All decisions made by Caledonia are final.

  3. Prizes The tournament features a specified prize pool, with prizes listed as pre-tax amounts. Prize Distribution: Team Captains are responsible for receiving the prizes. They must submit a ticket to Caledonia to receive any prizes. Note: Caledonia Esports is not sponsored by or associated with any third-party organizations related to this tournament or its prizes.
