Information
What's up boys and girls! The Six Memevitational is back for another year. This time it's taking place on the 15-16th January with a studio broadcast from the Confetti Institute in Nottingham. The head honcho of the CI is off sipping pina coladas somewhere so here's what Jakub "Atroix" Szmyt had to say (he works for them as well as freelancing (what a busy chap)).
"With Confetti's Esports Broadcast Production course, we value hands-on and live experience heavily over anything else. This is why we're supporting the Memevitational and hosting it at our venue as it is another opportunity out of the many for students to jump on board and get involved in esports in different ways."
Nice and tight right?
Like last year, 10 teams will rock up with players, content creators, and casters from all around the world heading to a ping-laden battlefield to fight for glory and... Not a lot else. We've also got some devs getting involved this time around. 5 devs will be scattered across various teams to really bring the "community" element together. I'm personally hoping they slap a few pros about to show them who's really boss. "That headshot is for that tweet 3 years ago you little shit".
We had a long debate about what to do with the 2nd stream. Cramming a whole tournament into 1 weekend is a nightmare but Jakub came to the rescue again, this time introducing Javier of Practice Server. PS will be producing our 2nd stream which comes complete with:
- A full 2nd stream
- A cleanfeed for those that wish to stream it themselves
- The ability to costream should anyone be so inclined
We know costreaming has been sought after in Siege for a long time. Who better to pioneer it than us? On Practice Server's involvement, here's what Javier had to say.
"Here at Practice Server we're excited to support the scene and community of R6 along with out friends at the Memevitational. Giving players and spectators the chance to participate in REAL community events like this, whether as players or spectators, are what drives us day in and day out. What better event to partner with?"
Broadcast talent wise, we're rocking up to Confetti with a star-studded UK lineup featuring Dezachu, AceOfPyrite, Fresh, Fluke, XRTROIKA, and Geo. The broadcast will feature a casting couch over a conventional setup, bringing a new style to Siege that hasn't been seen before. There'll be some fun bits and pieces for us to interact with so be ready.
Sponsor wise, we're still finalising the details but expect a familiar face or two from last year to return. Anyone else interested in supporting the Six Memevitational & our chosen charity (Maggies - https://maggies.org/) can reach out to me (Derry Holt) at dezachucasts@gmail.com.
