It’s that time of year already! Wow, didn’t that go fast? It’s time for the tournament which lets us see who will be competing in the UKEL 2021 Spring Split. This is the perfect opportunity for you if you’re a brand new UK organisation looking for your chance to make a name for yourself. Read on to find out all the important information about how you can fight your way into the UKEL.
The Open Tournament takes place at 13:00 BST (14:00 CEST) on August 22nd and August 23rd. These games are not officially streamed by the UKEL and so can be streamed by participating teams and players if they so wish. The format of these games follows an initial BO1 game, with every other round being a BO3 series. The top two teams will enter the Promotion Tournament.
The Promotion Tournament takes place at 13:00 BST (14:00 CEST) on August 29th and August 30th, and will be officially streamed by the UKEL here. In the promotion tournament, the two top teams from the Open Tournament will face off against the bottom two teams from the UKEL to see who will be competing next year, with whoever places 7th being able to pick their opponent whilst whoever finished 8th being left with the other opponent. The format follows a double elimination bracket, with the winners of the Winners Bracket Final and Losers Bracket Final qualifying for the 2021 UKEL spring split. All rounds are BO3.
Organisations must be UK based. A team must field at least 3 UK resident players in their starting lineup. Players must be Diamond 4+. Players cannot have started in more than 50% of summer split UKEL or ERL games.
